Tastes of the World
The Mediterranean Kitchen classes have always been a staple with us, but we have started to offer classes from other areas in Europe – France and Germany this time. Classic cooking techniques are the backbone of European cuisine. 




Tour of Italy ….. $45    Sorry ..... FULL

Things you need to know:

​• All class reservations are held with a credit card. No exceptions, sorry. You may pay cash upon arrival for the class if you do not want to use your credit card. Advise us of this decision. If you do not show up for class, your credit card will be charged the full amount. Cancellations must be received one week in advance to ensure a refund.

• A minimum of 6 students is required for each class. If the student count is less than 6, the class may be canceled 

• Most classes last 2 1/2—3 hours, but could be longer. Stay on task.

• Classes begin promptly at the indicated time. We don’t wait. There is too much to do.

• All equipment is provided for you including aprons. You will be advised if you must provide something in advance of the class. Bring baggies or containers to take your goodies home with you should there be any.

• Feel free to bring a bottle of wine to the Mediterranean Kitchen or American Regional Cooking classes. We provide bottled water only. If you contact us, we will give you wine suggestions from the region of study that will pair with your meal.

Basic Bread Baking ….. $25
Do you like fresh bread? Understanding what makes a good loaf of bread will help you want to make bread every week. Learn about the science while enjoying the making, shaping and baking of demi baguettes. While we wait for the 1st rise, we’ll practice making fancy dinner rolls.

Danish Pastry ….. $30
Danish pastry is a variant of laminated doughs – as are puff pastry and croissants. It uses both the explosion of butter and the leavening of yeast to become light and flaky. We will make pastries in several shapes and fillings.

Apple Almond Torte …. $30
We will have fresh apples from the orchard, so what better time for this rich almond butter crust that we will make with apples, and more apples. Watch the magic as the crust grows to engulf our apples.

Hearty Fall Breads ….. $30
In the Fall, we want breads that make us feel warm and toasty, so we will make Oatmeal Maple Rounds and Sweet Potato Bread. Class takes about 4 hours – pesky breads.

Ciabatta – an Italian Bread …. .$30 Sorry FULL
One of the beat known Italian breads in the USA. Tonight we will make the “little slipper”. You will learn how to use a couche and paddle. Learn about biga and why it is important. But best of all – you get to go home with warm ciabatta.

Cannoli Cake ….. $35  Sorry FULL
This treat seems to have originated in the Napoli region of Italy. It takes patience and time to get it right, but well worth the effort. It has everything we love about cannoli – cheese, chocolate, orange, - all packaged within a white cake that is glazed. Honest, well worth the effort.

Limit of 6 guests
This is for intermediate to experienced bakers since it takes a little patience to work with the house-building. Deep breaths here. But once it’s up and set, we can begin the finishing decoration. This class will take a few hours, so a light lunch is included while we wait for our mortar to set.

Class schedules are subject to change, but we try not to let that happen. New classes may be added at any time, so keep a sharp eye out for updates.
